The basics about TravDigi and how it works

What is TravDigi?+

TravDigi is the world's first verified digital hotel check-in platform. Travelers verify their identity once on our free app and check into any TravDigi-enabled hotel with a single QR scan in under 20 seconds — no paper forms, no photocopying, no queues. TravDigi is a DPIIT-recognized startup from Ahmedabad, India.

How does TravDigi work?+

Travelers download the free app, verify their identity once with a government ID and a short video, and receive a dynamic QR code. At any TravDigi hotel, they show the QR, the hotel scans it, and check-in is complete in under 20 seconds. Hotels get a fully digital guest register and compliance reports on demand.

Is TravDigi available on iOS and Android?+

Yes. TravDigi is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store, for both travelers and hotels. The platform is also accessible via web at travdigi.com.

Which countries does TravDigi support?+

TravDigi supports travelers from all 196 countries and works with all passport types and national IDs. We are headquartered in India and actively expanding our hotel network globally, including the Maldives, Pacific Islands, and Middle East.

Does TravDigi replace my existing hotel software?+

No. TravDigi works alongside your existing PMS and hotel software — it does not replace anything. It simply adds a verified digital guest register and faster check-in on top of what you already use.

How much does TravDigi cost for hotels?+

Hotels get the first 3 months completely free — no credit card required. After the free period, TravDigi is an affordable annual subscription based on your property size. Pricing details are available on request at hello@travdigi.com.

How long does it take to set up?+

Setup takes under 10 minutes. Register your property, access your hotel portal, print your TravDigi QR for reception, and you're live. Any staff member can be trained to use it in about 20 minutes.

What if a guest doesn't have the TravDigi app?+

No problem. TravDigi includes walk-in guest registration — your staff can register any guest digitally from the hotel portal in under 2 minutes, even if the guest doesn't have the app.

Can I generate compliance reports for authorities?+

Yes. TravDigi generates watermarked, timestamped compliance reports on demand with a single click. They are court-admissible and ready to submit to any authority — replacing hours of manual preparation.

Can I see check-in and check-out history?+

Yes. The hotel app shows your complete check-in and check-out history with date-wise filters to quickly search guest records — all from within the app, no web login needed.

What types of properties can use TravDigi?+

TravDigi works for all property types — hotels, hostels, resorts, guesthouses, homestays, Airbnbs, and motels. Any accommodation that accepts guests can use it.

Does staff see all guest details?+

No. TravDigi uses role-based access. Front desk staff see only masked guest details, while owners and managers see full records. This protects guest privacy and your data.

Is TravDigi free for travelers?+

Yes — TravDigi is completely free for travelers, forever. No subscriptions, no hidden costs. You verify once and check into any TravDigi hotel with a QR scan.

How do I verify my identity?+

Download the free app, upload a government-issued ID (passport, national ID, or driving license), and record a short verification video holding your ID. Our team reviews it, and once approved, your QR code is activated.

How long does verification take?+

Verification is reviewed by our team and is typically completed within 24 to 48 hours. You only need to do this once — after that, you can check into any TravDigi hotel instantly.

Can I add my family or children?+

Yes. Parents can add children under 18 under family profiles and check the whole family in together with one scan — perfect for family travel.

My verification was rejected. What do I do?+

Verification can be rejected if the document or video is unclear. Simply resubmit with a clear, well-lit photo of a valid ID and a video that clearly shows your face and document. If you need help, contact hello@travdigi.com and our team will assist you.

Does my QR work without internet?+

Your QR code is designed to be available even with limited connectivity. Once loaded, it remains ready for check-in for the session. Hotel connectivity is required to complete the scan verification.

PRIVACY & SECURITY

How we protect your data

How is my data protected?+

All data is encrypted using AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Identity documents are stored on secure regional servers based on your citizenship, and every data access event is logged and audited.

Where is my identity data stored?+

TravDigi uses a 7-region global data architecture. Your identity documents are stored on the regional server matching your citizenship — for example, Indian citizens' data in India, European citizens' data in Frankfurt — ensuring compliance with local data protection laws.

Is the QR code secure?+

Yes. The QR code is dynamic and rotates every 60 seconds, and each token is single-use. It contains no personal information — only an encrypted, short-lived token. A screenshot of your QR becomes useless within 60 seconds.

Who can see my verification video?+

Only TravDigi's authorized verification team can view your video, in view-only mode — it is never downloadable by anyone, including TravDigi staff. Hotels and authorities never have access to verification videos.

Is TravDigi compliant with data protection laws?+

Yes. TravDigi is fully compliant with India's DPDP Act 2023 and is built on GDPR principles, with regional compliance applied based on traveler citizenship. You can read our full Privacy Policy at travdigi.com/privacy-policy.

Does TravDigi send marketing emails?+

No. TravDigi sends transactional service emails only — such as verification updates and check-in confirmations. We do not send any marketing or promotional emails.
